Recon to Three Fingers Lookout

Siew Moi, Norm and I hiked up to Three Fingers Lookout on the 8/23-8/24 weekend to get a damage assessment of the lookout.
Took us 8 hours to hike up and 6 hours to hike out (the latter includes additional time for me to recover and climb out after I took a 100-150ft tumble down a steep ice field; nope, there are no blood and gore pictures of me :-), thank god)

  • The gently bowed saddle in the middle is Tin Can Gap. We've crossed the snow field to the top left and traversed from there.<br /> The snow field in the top left corner is where I'll have my spill/slip on our way out the next day...
  • looking back to our route so far: TCG saddle in the middle, we followed the snowfields and ridges to the left
  • here it is: the final ascend over a mild snow field. Can you see the lookout at the top of the picture?
